Alimlive is a terrible company
I used AlimLive for two years, and this short video provides a firsthand look at how I was treated by the platform.
Starting with AlimLive
I subscribed to AlimLive from March 2023 until March 2025, making it a full two years of consistent use. With platforms like AlimLive that offer online Quran instruction, there’s often an element of unpredictability when it comes to teacher quality. Sometimes you're fortunate enough to be matched with an excellent instructor, and other times, not so much. Our initial teacher, while polite, lacked structure and clarity—my children struggled to progress due to the haphazard switching between topics. Fortunately, that teacher became unavailable just a month into our journey, though I never found out why. In April 2023, AlimLive assigned us a new teacher, and we continued lessons with them for nearly two years.

New AlimLive teacher
After nearly two years with the new teacher provided by AlimLive, an unfortunate incident occurred involving inappropriate behavior on the teacher’s part. I addressed the matter directly, making it clear that such conduct was unacceptable and would not be tolerated. However, instead of resolving the issue, the teacher’s reaction only escalated the situation. This confrontation took place at the beginning of Ramadan, on 2 March 2025. On that same day, I contacted AlimLive to report the incident and informed them of my decision to discontinue the classes. Given that it was Ramadan and the school term had started, we had already planned to pause lessons due to iftar, taraweeh, and other seasonal commitments.
Leaving AlimLive
"Regrettably, the new teacher assigned by AlimLive conducted himself in an unacceptable manner. I addressed the issue directly, making it clear that such behaviour was not acceptable. His response to my concerns only escalated the matter. This incident took place at the beginning of Ramadan, on 2 March 2025. I promptly informed AlimLive of what had occurred and expressed my decision to discontinue the classes. Since it was both Ramadan and term time, we had already planned to pause the lessons for iftar, taraweeh, and related observances."

AlimLive Refuses Refund
AlimLive charges fees in advance at the end of each calendar month, so by the time March began, I had already paid the full amount of £58. However, I only attended one out of the 16 scheduled lessons for that month. Based on a simple breakdown (£58 ÷ 16 lessons), each session cost approximately £3.63—meaning I was due a refund of £54.38 for the 15 unused lessons. I initially requested this refund at the start of Ramadan in early March. However, due to travel during that period, I got sidetracked and wasn’t able to follow up. I was only reminded of the situation when I later checked my bank statement and noticed another automatic payment of £58 had gone through on 25 March, as I had forgotten to cancel the standing order.

AlimLive Blocks Me
In April, I reached out to AlimLive once more regarding the
unresolved refund of £54.38, along with an additional
accidental payment of £58 that had gone through after our
lessons had ended. Together, this amounted to a total refund
of £112.38. Unfortunately, the response I received from the
platform’s owner was deeply disappointing. Instead of
addressing the matter, they replied with,
“Sorry I am blocking you because of too much
messages”.
